I am seriously annoyed with you all.
A few days ago I heard about the limited-edition pink jerseys that are being put out for Fat Cyclist. They're a fund-raiser for the Lance Armstrong Foundation and Fatty's wife, who is battling the big C herself.
And I thought, I'll have myself one of those—sure there's the warm glow of altruism but really it's about being cool. With one of these little beauties, I thought, just for once I'll be cool.
But what do I learn today? In a brief summary of ordering trends, Fatty reports:
A lot of people have asked where in the world the jerseys are going. Well, theyĆre scattered throughout the world. Lots of them in the US, of course, but you'll also find them in the UK, Japan, Ireland, France, Germany, Canada, Malta, the Virgin Islands, New Zealand, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark (yes, every Scandinavian country is represented!) and — by far more than anywhere else besides the US — Australia.
So good on you Australia, you are a big-hearted country, but that won't stop me being annoyed with you all because I won't stand out in my lurid Fat Cyclist jersey—you've all bloody-well got one! And if you haven't, you soon will.
So that's it, I give up. I will never be cool.
Hey thanks Lowrydr, that cheers me up no end. But if you're right and I'm going to ooze "cool", that's going to be an entirely new experience for me—I'm looking forward to it!
